Steven A. Sigsbury joined Cochran in 2014 and specializes in tax and estate planning, estate and trust administration, fiduciary responsibility, and business and real estate planning. Steven’s laid-back personality allows him to relate to clients and instill a sense of trustworthiness at the outset of any engagement. Steven analyzes and simplifies complex problems and offers clients individualized solutions.
As a tax and estate planner, Steven works with clients to develop tax-efficient estate plans that accomplish both personal and business objectives. These plans are designed to provide clients with maximum flexibility while meeting all requirements of applicable federal and state tax and estate laws. Steven advises clients on a range of tax issues, including asset protection, charitable planning, insurance and benefit planning, estate and gift taxation, fiduciary taxation, business valuation and private equity.
Steven is an active member of the Washington, DC Estate Planning Council and also holds membership in several other associations, including the Trusts and Estates and Taxation sections of the Virginia, DC and Colorado state bar associations.
Steven lives in Willowsford, Virginia with his wife and two daughters. Steven is an ardent fan of the Washington Nationals and the University of Virginia, but enjoys all things sports. Steven currently sits on the board of directors for his fraternity’s housing corporation, is a past president of the UVa Club of Denver and is a past officer of the Rocky Mountain Dart Association. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia and Colorado.
